What Moms Really Want for Mother’s Day

What Moms Really Want for Mother’s Day

What do moms really want for Mother’s Day? Brunch? Flowers? Homemade cards? Jewelry? Cocktails? Lots of fanfare? Peace and quiet? Yes and no.

Sorry, I cant tell you what your mom, mother-in-law, or wife wants today because what moms really want depends on the mom. Anything homemade and from the heart is great from the kids, but beyond that, you’re on your own. The best way to determine what she wishes for or expects on Mother’s Day is to pay attention! Has she been dropping any hints? Is she overwhelmed lately and could use a little pampering? Think about what makes her happy, and make it happen.

Anyone who knows me well realizes that I’m not one for Hallmark holidays. On Valentines Day, for instance, I’d rather my husband NOT shell out $50 for roses just because he feels he’s supposed to mark the occasion. Same holds true today. A card, a hug, or a simple “thanks, Mom,” would be nice, but my family knows me well enough not to make a fuss simply because the calendar tells them to do so. However, not everyone thinks along those lines!

To find out what moms really want for Mother’s Day, don’t listen to articles that tell you what moms really want…listen to the mom you want to honor! Chances are, she’s already given you the answer you’re looking for. Think about that special woman in your life, and do what makes her feel special. Then, take it beyond today…and make her feel special the other 364 days of the year.

Happy Mother’s Day!
